BreezyNotes EHR Makes Telehealth Billing More Efficient and Flexible in Version 2.6.3
BreezyNotes 2.6.3 brings with it some great new features. What started as a quick partial release quickly turned into a full release as our team responded to Covid19 and the resulting need for efficient telehealth documentation and claims billing.
Telehealth Documentation and Claims Billing Improvements
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, our billing team has closely monitored the quickly-changing documentation and billing requirements imposed by different payers as telehealth was quickly adopted by mental health clinicians. With this update, we have addressed those requirements by creating a new progress note that is specific to telehealth.
The new Telehealth Note automates allows therapists to create set default Place of Service and Modifier codes for each insurance company. The note also adds additional fields to add exact start/end times for each session, rather than our current more limited “duration” field, and custom codes that may be required by certain payers. This will save therapists time by automating common telehealth-specific billing tasks while also adding the flexibility necessary to address the variations in requirements between payers.
Ability for Clients to Edit Preferred Name, Pronouns and Gender
BreezyNotes EHR has long had fields available for clinicians to add a client’s preferred name, pronouns and gender into their chart. Now, clients can add that information into their chart themselves from the Client Portal.
A Closer Look at Payroll
Our new Payroll Report allows clinics to track billed hours and pay based on CPT code. Administrators can set a time value for each CPT code (such as 1 for 90837, a 60-minute appointment, and .75 for 90834, a 45-minute appointment. From there, rate of pay can also be customized so that payroll staff can see how much is being paid out to therapists per code.
Calendar Usability and Speed Enhancements
Our calendar is the center of BreezyNotes EHR, where clinicians can quickly schedule new appointments and quickly navigate to reports from current and past sessions. So, we made some changes to improve how therapists navigate it: We’ve rearranged the calendar interface, added a Service Facility Filter, the ability to assign facilities to specific users and sped up the calendar.
Additional Improvements
We’ve also added these tweaks to make BreezyNotes EHR more flexible and easy-to-use:
- Stripe Improvements: Added more flexibility around adding fees and payment descriptions to credit/debit card payments. Also added the ability to charge a client’s card once without storing it on file.
- Client Portal Alerts: Administrators can now receive alerts when clients make changes to their chart through the client portal.
