Who is Bri?
“I love to hear people’s stories.”
Bri’s interest in therapy developed during childhood. Back then, she lived with many foster siblings. Bri watched them head off to therapy and saw the difference those sessions made in their lives.
She pursued formal schooling and is now a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. After school, Bri jumped right into starting her own practice. Watching her parents run their own dentistry clinic, she appreciated the freedom of controlling her schedule and making her own decisions about helping clients.
Bri decided that, along with traditional therapy, she would incorporate yoga concepts, such as acceptance, mindfulness, and intention. yoga.psych.wellness was born allowing her to address the whole person in a session.
Why an EHR?
Bri started out with a pencil and paper for notes and managing her practice. This worked for a while. But, she soon decided that having an EHR would be of benefit.
When Bri started working out of multiple locations, she couldn’t find a way to securely move her notes between the main office and her secondary location (short of dragging around a hundred-pound filing cabinet). At the same time, pending legislation was going to require all healthcare providers to use an EHR, and she also felt an EHR would help her practice stay relevant.
The First EHR
Thinking “the more features, the better,” Bri signed up with a large EHR company offering a complex array of options, tools and reports. It was expensive and expansive, but she thought it would be worth it.
Months later, after very little progress learning the new system, Bri felt overwhelmed. At the same time, a significant chunk of her income was flowing straight into that company’s pocket. Bri realized that system just wasn’t meant for an independent practice like hers.
Bri needed something simple.
Arriving at BreezyNotes
Bri saw an ad for BreezyNotes EHR in a trade association email. BreezyNotes was an EHR application promising simplicity and a full management suite for independent therapy practices. After checking out the website, she took advantage of BreezyNotes’ 30-day free trial and ultimately became a customer. For Bri it was an easy decision.
Simple Features
Unlike her previous EHR, BreezyNotes was built with simplicity at the forefront. It’s not overwhelmingly packed with features. For Bri, BreezyNotes has the features she needs like scheduling, notes, billing and reporting along with an intuitive user interface. Also, the fact that it’s cloud-based means working from two locations is as simple as having a secure internet connection.
Simple Pricing
Bri’s first EHR charged her the same large fee every month, which hurt when the calendar wasn’t as full.
BreezyNotes’ per-note pricing works much better. It allows Bri to pay only for what she uses. After slow months, she doesn’t pay as much. After busy months, she pays a bit more, but her cost-per-note goes down. So, BreezyNotes remains affordable even as her practice grows.
Responsive Customer Service
The number of calls to customer support dropped dramatically when she signed on with BreezyNotes. However, when she does need help, Bri knows her issue will be handled quickly and courteously–usually within two hours.
Surprise! Free Notes!
On top of running her practice, Bri leads a group that helps therapists who are starting their own practices. At one session, Bri recommended BreezyNotes to the group.
Soon after, she received an email from BreezyNotes COO Paul Jonas letting her know that Analisa Jayasekera of Liminal Space Counseling had signed up for a free trial and mentioned Bri as the referrer.
Bri was happy to learn that as a “Thank you” for the referral, BreezyNotes gave her a 100-note account credit as part of its NoteBank customer referral program.
“I didn’t even know about that,” Bri said. “I just recommended it because I thought it was a good EHR!”
