Allow Credit Card Charges for a Client

Allow Credit Card Charges for a Client

**Just like unsecured communications via email/text, credit card processing is NOT HIPAA compliant. Your practice name will be sent to your client’s credit card company, and their name and email will be stored with the credit card processor. Please make sure you have your consent for treatment and all legal documentation in order before processing your clients’ credit cards and other online payment methods.**

The ability to add and charge credit cards must be turned on individually for each client, indicating that they have consented to having their credit cards stored and charged.

First – Click the “Edit” button next to demographics

Click on the Notices Tab and change Allow Credit Card Charge to “Yes.”

Then click Save.

When you return to the client’s Chart, a Payment Source option appears in the Billing Section at the top.

When a client logs into the portal, the “View Balance” tab will now say “View/Pay Balance.”

They will also now have the option to Check Out, which allows them to pay via Credit Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay based on the device or browser they are using.

Please Note: If a client pays via the Client Portal, their credentials are saved in Stripe, but it will not save to BreezyNotes. This is a separate payment system. In order to save their credit card info in BreezyNotes, you will still need to get the card number from them and enter it into BreezyNotes.
