Filing Cabinet to Dragon Toy Chest – Private Practice DIY

Filing Cabinet to Dragon Toy Chest – Private Practice DIY

The dragon toy chest made from a filing cabinet. You may remember that time we turned an obsolete filing cabinet into a practical backpack. And to show it was practical, we brought it to the American Psychological Association Convention.

But we wanted to top that. So, we asked people at the convention how they would reuse a filing cabinet. Turns out psychologists are pretty creative, because we heard many fantastic ideas.

However, there was one that stood out. It came from Alexis, who wanted us to turn a filing cabinet into a dragon:

Alexis thought of the winning idea to reuse a filing cabinet as a dragon.

Thank you, Alexis, for thinking of such a creative way to reuse a filing cabinet!

So, without further adieu, here is a filing cabinet transformed into a dragon toy chest:

It’s a great way for child and play therapists to reuse their empty filing cabinets while also gaining an interesting piece of furniture.

This project also provided a great opportunity for Paul Jonas, our COO, to collaborate with his mom, Lisa, and his sister, Anna. They had a blast making it. You can see how they did it in the video below:

If you have a creative idea for how to reuse a filing cabinet (or for any good DIY project that would be useful for a therapist), hit us up on social media. We’re looking forward to our next project!

Why did we transform this filing cabinet? One of the benefits of electronic health record applications like BreezyNotes EHR is that you don’t need those big filing cabinets anymore. So we want to make sure those old filing cabinets find new uses instead of being thrown away.
