Submit a Claim without a Diagnosis

Sometimes you run into situations when you  need to submit a claim for a client before you have their diagnostic assessment completed. One such case is when you do a 90846 (Family Psychotherapy without Client).  As such a rare occurence, this falls out of the BreezyNotes three-step process, but you can still enter a note and afix it to the person’s record as you set them up to become a new client.
  1. When you create the appointment. Choose “Other” for the Category and change the CPT code to 90846. Click Save
  2. Click the notepad icon to open our generic note and you can enter your note under “Consultation Brief Description.” This will become part of the client’s record.
  3. Click the Save Button and you will be brought to the encounter summary
  4. You can now eSign it if you are done.
  5. If you need to justify the CPT code with an ICD10 code you can do that by clicking Fee Sheet and following these steps.
  6. Someone with access to billing will need to submit the claim via Billing > Client Encounters (directions here).
